People applying for membership by April 16th are eligible for the membership discount at the meeting. Anybody applying for membership after April 16th should note that their membership *WILL NOT* become valid until after the meeting, and so will get no membership discount at the meeting.

Refunds may be requested prior to May 14, 2007.
Abstract acceptance will be announced before the registration refund deadline.

Registration cancellations will receive a full refund (minus 10%) if requested by May 14. The 10% processing fee is unavoidable because we are working with a professional online registration and abstract handling company, and so each abstract submission and financial transaction (including both registrations and refunds) costs a fee. For instance, if you register, there is a 5% fee to pay the transaction fees to the company and bank. If you then cancel, there is an additional 5% fee to return the payment. Thus 10% of the original payment is lost to ASSC and must be paid by the author to offset this loss. Each abstract submission also costs a substantial fee, whether or not the author decides to go to the meeting. However, the ASSC does not request a reimbursement for that fee. Thus the total fees to the conference for a person that registers, submits an abstract, and then cancels, is higher than the requested 10% cancellation fee.
